Former Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan has been tapped to serve as Border Czar in the upcoming Trump Administration, President-elect Trump announced late Sunday night. Trump’s America First base has cheered the announcement as a sign that mass deportations and a fortified southern border are on the way.
“I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (“The Border Czar”),” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post announcing Homan’s appointment.
“I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin,” Trump added.
A longtime frontrunner for the Border Czar position, Homan served as the nation’s Acting ICE Director from January 2017 to June 2018, leading to a 40% increase in deportations of illegal aliens and a huge uptick in immigration raids nationwide. In the same vein, after he was announced as the new Border Czar, Homan vowed to usher in immediate ICE raids, including at workplaces known for ripping off the American People by hiring illegal aliens.
Homan made waves during a recent CBS 60 Minutes interview in which the network bemoaned the possibility that families could be separated by a mass deportation program, to which Homan replied “Families can be deported together.”
Watch the video clip below:
When arrests and deportations finally get underway, Homan will have his work cut out for him, as between an estimated 10 and 20 million illegal aliens entered the United States through the southern border alone under the watch of outgoing President Joe Biden and his Border Czar, Kamala Harris.
In all, estimates put the nation’s total illegal alien population somewhere between 30 and 40 million.
Homan, however, has been preparing for the job for four years, during which time he’s made numerous media appearances slamming the failed border policies of his predecessor and laying out future solutions, including in multiple appearances on The Stew Peters Show.
While the Homan appointment has been lauded by Trump’s base and border security hawks, other moves have drawn skepticism, including Trump’s announcement that New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will serve as Trump’s UN Ambassador – a role held by Nikki Haley during the first Trump administration.
As I’ve previously reported, Stefanik has longstanding ties to the World Economic Forum and got her start in politics working for George W. Bush and Paul Ryan.
What’s more, is that according to Track AIPAC, Rep. Elise Stefanik has raked in nearly $1 million worth of campaign cash from the Israel lobby.
